Kenneth Frampton
In this thesis I investigate the meaning of the word tectonic. The main answers that I find are given by Kenneth Frampton in his book: Studies in Tectonic Culture. With this new approach for looking at architecture and our built surroundings I investigate the work of Peter Zumthor and Dom Hans van der Laan. Also the theoretical work of Gottfried Semper, Eugène Viollet-Le-Duc and Adolf Loos are discussed shortly.
